The Roots have blessed us with a lovely video that fits “Dear God 2.0″ like a glove. The album How I Got Over drops in stores today. I hear it’s dope and you don’t have to love the artwork to enjoy it immensely.
This long awaited album is another thing that should make you realize when The Roots are gone you will miss them cause there’s nothing like them. I mean, even my Mama likes Questlove! (more…)
The Hip Hop gods have blessed me personally, not just with some good music as of late, but also with some straight up So Fresh And So Green subject matter for this new music like Von Pea and Donwill’s recent release inspired by The Roots.

Recently Guru, half of the legendary Hip Hop group Gang Starr, suffered a heart attack and was in a coma due to “controlled medications” according to hiphopdx.com.
Not only was there sorrow and warm wishes in the Hip Hop community there were a lot of questions regarding the emcee’s status, whether his family was being allowed to see him or even know about Guru’s illness.
If you couldn’t tell here at sofreshandsogreen.com we’re pretty fond of DJs. Here’s the latest from BK-One. You might remember him as Brother Ali’s DJ.
He teamed up with pproducer Benzilla and the result is the Brazilian influenced Hip Hop on BK-One’s new album Rádio Do Canibal.
The album features a slew of MCs like Slug from Atmosphere, Black Thought of the The Roots, Brother Ali, Raekwon, Murs, Phonte and more.
“American Nightmare” features Brother Ali and Scarface weaving dark tales of the realities of growing up in the inner city. Not as cliché as it sounds because Brother Ali takes you all the way back to the start of the American nightmare in childhood that’s true to life.
The hook sounds very 50 Cent/G-Unit though those cats probably wouldn’t touch a beat like this. Trust the beat alone is worth the listen below.
I’m actually feeling this song a lot right now, especially the first verse. OK, so maybe I did sleep on Brother Ali a little. Guess I won’t be doing that again.
I thought people went to far with Auto-tune in their free time when I saw a video of a baby crying with Auto-tune altered cries, but these guys take the cake. Roger Riley & Teddy Troutman have the best names I’ve heard of in a long time and they’ve decided to Auto-tune some of you’re favorite rap songs that really never needed to be Auto-tuned in the first place. That’s the point though. Listen up Jay Z (or Jiggahov as I like to call him cause we went to high school together- joking) I’ve always thought if you want a trend to die you have to overdo it first. Mission accomplished Roger & Teddy. Their hilarious “Death Of Autotune” album kills Auto-tune dead by covering classics like A Tribe Called Quest’s “Electric Relaxation”, Outkast’s “Elevators” and Biggie’s “One More Chance”.

So hard to chose what to rock for you here, but no worries if you like it you can download it from these guys for free at rappersiknow.com. I recommend “You Got Me”- The Roots feat. Erykah Badu…
