Food Network TV star Rachael Ray wants to feed your kids. Because of a partnership between the celebrity “chef” and New York City’s Department of Education up to 600,000 New York City school children will be eating healthier foods from Rachael Ray’s recipes as their school lunch.
New York City’s school program is said to be one of the nation’s healthiest, which sounds kind of crazy to me. I can’t remember a single vegetable except maybe if you want to include french fries and ketchup.
As it turns out there are other aspects of NYC school lunch that are in need of a healthier change. While at Public School 89 with a group of 6th graders and her new menu a cockroach dropped in as reported by the New York Daily News.

When asked about it Ray said:
