The battle of the acronyms is on, this time it’s KFC vs. PETA. Kentucky Fried Chicken has recently released a new atomic chicken sandwich. This one may be more deadly than the ones dripping in melted parm at your local bodega or pizza joint. This KFC sandwich is called the Double Down and it consists of two fried chicken fillets with a filling of two slices of Monterey Jack and pepper jack cheese, two slices of bacon, and sauce, with no bun.
I’ve never heard anyone say anything good about this sandwich since its debut on April 12th and adding to the bad response is PETA. In this case PETA does not stand for People Eating Tasty Animals because they are catching fits over this sandwich. Continue reading
As I wrote before The Source magazine (“The bible of Hip Hop music, culture and politics”) has put out a “green” issue that’s on stands now. I set out to find out what was so green about it. That involved me getting my hands dirty and actually buying the magazine.

It’s heartwarming to see around the world people donating to the victims of Haiti’s recent tragedy. Even though it is for a good cause I’m sure PETA would disapprove of fund raisers in Thailand using elephants.
As far as US aid according to NPR:
“– There is a waiting list of 1,400 flights of aid and relief workers into Port-au-Prince airport. Right now, 120 to 140 flights a day can get in.
– So far, the U.S. has delivered 1.4 million bottles of water and 700,000 meals.
– There are now 2,676 U.S. ground troops in Haiti. He expects 4,600 to be there by the weekend. And an additional 2,000 — Marines — will be offshore on Sunday. Continue reading
