Beyonce To Launch Vegan Food Delivery Service

See, Beyonce likes green!
See, Beyonce likes green!

Beyonce and her trainer/exercise physiologist Marco Borges, have created 22 Days Nutrition, which delivers plant-based food right to your door. Meals start at $15 each with a variety of delivery plans based on frequency. Last year Beyonce and her husband, Jay Z, took a 22-day vegan challenge. Some considered it bandwagon hopping but apparently she considered it a business opportunity.

Recently, celebrities like Jennifer Lopez also did a vegan stunt stint. Maybe the person who brought these celebrities to a place where they wanted to flirt with vegansim was President Bill Clinton who famously converted to a vegan diet after serious health and heart problems. The benefits of a plant based diet are numerous so why would anybody take issue with Beyonce’s new venture? Continue reading

VIDEO: An ATM That Gives You Cupcakes Instead Of Cash

cupcake atm

LA-based cupcake company Sprinkles has come up with an innovative idea for those of you out there who get sugar and baked goods cravings in the middle of the night. They developed an outdoor cupcake ATM machine. No news yet on whether or not there has been a surge on cupcake muggings but we’ll let you know if we hear anything. Check out the video via Huffington Post on how this cupcake ATM works.

While this may be convenient and even a god idea for someone like Oprah favorite Cake man Raven how far away from fresh and homemade do you want the food you eat to be? And how convenient do you want it to be to get sometimes foods? At least it looks like you have to walk to this ATM you can’t drive up to it or have it delivered to your home at night. I’m pretty sure this wouldn’t work in Bolivia!

Mos Def Makes Loop21’s List Of Today’s Most Politically Active Black Celebrities

In light of the new film “Sing Your Song,” celebrating the life of activist and entertainment legend Harry Belafonte, Loop21.com posted a list of today’s most politically active Black celebrities.

I think it’s a pretty great list, even including Black celebs who engage in environmental activism like Aisha Tyler (although I don’t know how much I’d want to be on any list with Russell Simmons. Y’all like him though). The Mighty Mos Def turned Yasiin also makes the list and Continue reading

Some Thoughts On The Dr. Oz Show

One day at work my female coworkers and I were asked to find images in a stack of magazines for a presentation. I came across a perfume ad that stopped me in my tracks. I saw it before but on this day I just had to discuss it with others.

It was a full page closeup of a very handsome blondish man with a 5 o’clock shadow and piercing blue eyes. His head was tilted to the side and he looked directly at the viewer as if to say, “You are the most interesting and beautiful, best smelling woman I’ve ever heard say anything, ever. I am listening. I hear you.” We named him Troy.

A male coworker overheard us discussing it and said, “That’s the look every man has to master. He’s really not paying attention but he knows he has to look like he is. Works like a charm.” Continue reading

Every little bit counts but I would like to pass on whatever the baby Jay-Z and Bono have will sound like.

We can blame Swizz Beats for getting the unlikely duo together.

It is the thought that counts and whatever they raise will be helpful so thanks.

“Last night we wrote a song. Bono got a call from a producer, Swizz. He and Jay-Z wanted to do something for Haiti. So, Bono came up with the phrase on the phone, and last night we were here, we wrote a song – finished, recorded and send (sic) back to them. So, that might be the next thing you hear from us!” ~U2 guitarist Edge wrote on his site, quote via ecorazzi.com

“Rihanna is releasing her cover of Bob Marley’s “Redemption Song” on iTunes, with the proceeds earmarked for Haitian relief efforts by the Red Cross, UNICEF, Oxfam America and Partners in Health. The track, which she first performed on Oprah on Jan. 20, can also be purchased at Oprah.com and at Rihannanow.com.” ~gather.com

I’ll be passing on that one too, sorry. Continue reading
