SoFreshAndSoGreen Will Be On Hiatus For Now

sofresh hiatus to do list run a sick ass blog

Hello friends,

It’s been a while since I’ve posted and I am sorry about that but I think it’s something that needed to happen. Since my father died last year it has become a priority for me to practice some self-care. I admit that’s not my strong point. Rushing around to be on time for appointments, taking care of others and things more than I take care of myself, and dealing with the weight of my new reality have led me to injury.

I sprained my ankle and injured the other in a bad fall a week ago. Pushing myself has made things worse and I’m now forced to, not just slow down, but stop completely in many ways.

Suddenly I need to reassess my surroundings more. I’m having to ask myself questions like if I can’t walk are the things around me the things I actually need the most? If not why the hell do I have all this other stuff instead? How could I have put off so many things that I now need done and cannot do? What is the balance I need to it that this never happens again? Have I cultivated relationships that include and allow people that will literally help me when I have fallen?

These are questions of environment on a more personal level that also include myself and my own inner world. I’m going to need more time than I knew to get things in order to run this site the way it needs to be run so it can be the true asset to you and I that I know it can be.

So SoFreshAndSoGreen.com will be on hiatus for the time being. Sure, I may pop up for Earth Day to tell you how silly its typical rituals have become in the face of the catastrophe that is potential drought in 36 states in the U.S. this year, a revolting president who played golf with Tiger Woods during one of the largest environmental protests, and the disaster that is Canada’s tar sands Keystone XL pipeline. But I don’t know that I will be able to do this consistently for a while.

I’ll still be around on the SFSG Facebook Page for now even though pay to promote is abhorrent. And SoFresh will get our Tumblr and our Pinterest up and running at some point. Getting information that empowers you to be more green out to you is still important to me, but for now, on this, World Water Day, SoFresh is on officially hiatus.

Love Always,
Madam Toussaint

NAACP soda new york city ban chris jordan seurat

The NAACP has joined the ranks of those opposed to New York City Mayor Bloomberg’s ban on large sugary sodas.
