GREEN QUOTES

For African Americans and other people of color, I hope you can support the clean energy solutions that will make our communities more prosperous. This isn’t the time to surrender to feelings of hopelessness and despair. It’s time to tell our friends, neighbors and elected officials why clean energy is good for our communities and our country.”
~Omarion

R&B singer Omarion has recently decided to kick the truth to the young Black youth and everyone else about clean energy in an op-ed post.

Omarion also explains that he recently finished The Hip Hop Caucus Clean Energy Now! tour with EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson, Phaedra Ellis-Lamkins, CEO, Green For All and none other than Biz Markie among others. The tour was designed to bring together the youth, African Americans, the Hip Hop community, and various faiths to get active about the need for clean energy jobs and a greener future for all Americans. The Earth we share is not just a rock tossed through space, but a living, nurturing being. She cares for us, she deserves our care in return.”
~Michael Jackson

Fresh off of the Grammy tribute here we have a quote from MJ himself. At the Grammy tribute to the late artist those in charge saw fit to use the song “Earth Song” with Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Usher, Carrie Underwood and Smokey Robinson.

This quote makes it plain and shows that it isn’t odd at all that a Black person might say that. Free of vocabulary words like sustainability, dark green, CFL and carbon footprints here we have a statement about the environment all kinds of people, Black or otherwise, could get behind. It’s just that simple.

I think Michael Jackson genuinely cared for the environment and (more…)

Reuters Pictures Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez hugs a child during the inauguration of the cable car of San Agustin in a neighborhood in Caracas January 20, 2010.

Let me start by saying I have heard this theory before following this earthquake.

Venezuela’s President Hugo Chávez, long critical of the United States and its policies claims that the US the earthquake that has devastated Haiti was caused by a secret tectonic weapon that was being tested by the US Navy.

The weapon claims Chávez was intended to be used to eventually destroy Iran and invade and occupy Haiti.

He is quoted by Spanish newspaper ABC as saying the earthquake “may be associated with the project called HAARP, a system that can generate violent and unexpected changes in climate.”

HAARP is a live album and video by English alternative rock band Muse, released on 17 March 2008 in the United Kingdom[1] and April 1, 2008 in the United States. I doubt Chávez is a Muse fan but that album was pretty damn good.

The HAARP Chávez is talking about is the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program located in the wilderness of Alaska in a place called Gakona.

“I met young kids with AIDS that don’t know their parents or their own names that smile and appreciate when you give them a hug and a handshake. I was the first person with some type of notoriety to visit them and they said I may be the only person that would ever come see them again.

It was a humbling experience and it changed my life… I no longer take the simple things in life for granted.”
~Keith Murray on his recent trip to Mozambique, Africa to raise awareness and global attention to the plight of children fighting HIV/AIDS.

This is why I’m not in favor of ageism in rap or term limits for rappers. Rappers need time to evolve as human beings to get to the point where they would want to do something like this. He’s 35 now and may not have done this at 18, although this is his 3rd trip.

Murray was personally affected by the disease. Both his mother and older sister died from the HIV/AIDS.

A changing environment will affect Alaska more than any other state, because of our location. I’m not one though who would attribute it to being man-made.
-Sarah Palin, Former Vice Presidential Hopeful and Governor of Alaska, authoress

Seriously, isn’t she awesome?

Years from now our children’s children will look upon this woman with the awe she deserves. It’s a very sophisticated thing she does, so sophisticated the democrats haven’t been able to duplicate it and haven’t been successful enough at counteracting it.

Then again maybe that’s not saying much. So maybe years from now our children’s children will look upon the Democrats with awe as to how they allowed this woman to become so successful.

Those children will probably not live in Alaska because it may not exist anymore according to Palin.
