Have you ever seen an image of a chicken made to look like a woman in an ad? Why on Earth would anyone want to do that and why does it rarely get a second thought for those who see it?
I came across this video via activist and author Carol J. Adams. I was so intrigued by the title and summary of her book The Sexual Politics of Meat: A Feminist-vegetarian Critical Theory, 20th Anniversary Edition last year I had to read it and couldn’t put it down. I’ll write more about my thoughts on it later. For now I’d love for you to watch this video with the author discussing dead chickens used in sexual imagery and what that means for women and animals in our society. Tell me what you think in the comments.
