On February 26, Trayvon Martin was shot and killed by George Zimmerman as he walked to a family member’s home from a convenience store where he had just bought a bag of Skittles. He was only 17 years-old.
As long as I’ve been alive these senseless killings, these tragedies, have been a part of my environment. Outrage is understandable and marches are great for increasing awareness about the need for justice, but his family is now seeking donations to their legal fund. So here’s another way to take action: You can donate as little as $2 to the family’s verified fund. That’s about the same amount you would spend on a bag of Skittles.
