“Since 1987, when I got my first one, I’ve been wearing a clock around my neck 24/7. You feel me? 24/7. I have over a hundred clocks. I’ve got fancy clocks and clocks from all over the world that people made for me.” -Flavor Flav, vanityfair.com

Hip Hop pioneer, reality show star, restauranteur and author of Flavor Flav: The Icon The Memoir, Flavor Flav, will have one of his signature clocks on display at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. TMZ writes “We’re told Flav was thrilled to grant the request … saying he was happy that “‘generations unborn will be able to see this [clock].’”

So why would I write about Flavor Flav’s clock in the Grammy Museum on a website devoted to awareness about the environment? True indeed, we do cover music and music news, but I wanted to do this writeup because as a long time Public Enemy and Hip Hop fan I remember what Flav’s clock means.

Some may consider him a parody now but Flavor Flavs clock represents an awareness, a consciousness. It was the visual representation of the question “What time is it?” as in “do you know what’s going on?” Essentially that’s the question we want to ask you on SoFreshAndSoGreen.com and we want to provide you with answers to that question when we can. Flav explains more int he video below.

“I always say I’m clockin, I’m clockin- that means I’m paying attention so you can’t get fast on me.” -Flavor Flav
