Online retail giant Amazon recently launched a new new program that will let you trade in your old electronics in exchange for an Amazon credit– but wait, there’s a bit of a catch. All of your old electronics are not accepted.
“A fourth generation iPod touch will get you up to $106 in credit, while a 16GB Archos 43 Android tablet will fetch $60 in trade-in value. The company is taking in old cameras and GPS devices too. Kindles, Nooks and iPads are not included in this service.” -greenerchoices.org
T-Mobile USA and eBay launched similar programs aimed at giving customers a cost-effective way to purchase a new phone and upgrade. Every electronic device traded in is more likely to be reused somehow instead of thrown in the garbage where toxic chemicals in your electronics can seep into the groundwater.
