To make a bad joke this is “something new from the Grand Daddy I.U.”. New York’s own Grand Daddy I.U. released the popular hit “Something New” off his Smooth Assassin album in 1990. Fast forward to 2011 and he’s fed up with the gossip. It’s a shame what’s regarded as “news” in Hip Hop these days. It’s all about being TMZ sans the fact checking. We’ve descended into a 24 hour rumor and innuendo mill, losing sight of the things that are really important.

Grand Daddy I.U. doesn’t care about Gucci Mane’s ice cream face tattoo, Nicki Minaj’s butt implants and although this freestyle predates the scandal I’m sure he doesn’t care about what Mister Cee does…and neither do I, and neither should you. Remember Japan? Those are real concerns.
