85,000 egg laying hens were confirmed dead in collapse of a Connecticut farm building during heavy snow last week. Did you think it was another mass animal death? Well it was, but this one isn’t mysterious.
“The state says back-to-back snowstorms and a recent ice storm have brought down the roofs of more than 130 barns, greenhouses, equipment buildings and other farm buildings. More than a dozen dairy cows, 2 horses and a calf have been killed in building collapses.” -AP, Src: middletownpress.com
Sorry to disappoint you, but it seems like the story here may be global warming. We’re getting record amounts of snow across the US. Even reports of the rare phenomenon thundersnow. It is what is sounds like, a thunderstorm with thunder and lightening but instead of rain there’s snow. Global warming leads to what’s called climate instability which gives us some extreme weather patterns.
