In the US and Sweden birds are falling out of the sky in mass deaths. Not to be outdone, in the US mass fishkills are also making the headlines. So what’s all this about?

Here’s what happened and where:

Here’s a list of possible reasons given by scientists and non scientists alike:

-One bird flew into a tree and the others followed.
-New Years Eve fireworks stressed the birds systems, disoriented them and made them fly to their deaths due to their poor eyesight.
-Lightening
-”The End Of Times” biblical plague unleashed by God
-The white man has been tinkering with his HAARP machine again
-These are the most recent effects of BP’s oil spill in the Gulf Of Mexico last year

Here’s what scientists have ruled out:
-A connection between the birds and the fish
-Disease as the cause of the bird deaths in Arkansas

What do you think happened to these birds?

I suspected a connection to the ecocide in the Gulf of Mexico, but that doesn’t explain what happened in Sweden if there is a common cause. In following this story I find some reasons I can’t believe and the ocassional downplaying of how strange these events are, although mass animal deaths can happen naturally.

Of course we do have the media to overhype these incidents and make them seem as though they’re happening everyday at an alarming rate so let’s not fall into that trap. The media hype doesn’t mean these aren’t very strange events though, especially given their scale.
