So yes, many of President Obama’s accomplishments have been obscured by our 24 hour news cycle, too much airplay for the opposition, and the right wing juggernaut. In our love for Obama and faith in him to get things done, instead of our faith in ourselves, we may have also lost track of some of the things President Obama did wrong.

In the wake of the midterm elections the new catchphrase holds that the loss of the House to the Republicans is a referendum on Obama and his administration. That’s not really true. There’s plenty of hate out there for the incumbents, many of whom were Democrats. Anyway, our president has done plenty wrong himself, that would have made it significantly easier to mobilize those who supported him before. At times I think those in power, including our president are terrified of active and engaged Black, Brown and young voters.
