This is the week of the United Nations’ General Assembly meeting where the Millennium Development Goals will be discussed. On the sidelines the Climate Group will host Climate Week NY˚C 2010, a global forum to mobilize an international public-private response to climate change.

Between 20-26 September those at the forum will be exploring how greater dialogue between governments and business on low carbon policies, game-changing technologies and public and private finance can help:
• Halve global emissions by 2050
• Increase energy security
• Unlock a clean industrial revolution that will secure jobs and economic growth around the world
• Secure clean energy access for all

It’s nice to know that even though Copenhagen was a failure people have continued to take action, as with the alternative to Copenhagen, Cochabamba in Bolivia.

On deck for today will be events like NYC °CoolRoofs – Housing Works (Public)- an exciting collaboration between NYC Service, the NYC Department of Buildings and the Community Environmental Center to promote and facilitate the cooling of New York City’s rooftops.
