Here’s the second part of my interview with Manhattan were we discuss the environment and BP’s oil gusher. If you missed the first part check that out HERE – there’s a download of his new album Live From The Glitterdome in it for you.

So far there are 1,789 birds, 457 sea turtles, 59 mammals, and 12 human beings who are dead as a result of BP’s oil gusher on this 84 day of the gusher. [Find out where I got those numbers HERE]. 11 died in the rig explosion and the last committed suicide because he lost his livelihood on the seas. Your thoughts?

It’s more astonishing to me the amount of ignorance people have when it comes to these kinds of catastrophes. I hear a lot of people who never ask any questions about where their oil comes from, where it’s kept, where it’s maintained, but when it pops up in the news and interrupts your regularly scheduled program then everybody’s up in arms. I’ve been more annoyed by that than anything.

Manhattan- “It’s Nuthin”

People don’t know what the hell a sea turtle is truthfully. All they know is now they’re dying and now they care about them. And I feel it’s unfortunate that BP has to make these kinds of blunders in order for people to understand that BP should have never been allowed in the first place to take these kind of chances.

Also, they’re negligent and they know that. When you have, I don’t know how many, barrels a day being spilled negligent or not, they obviously cannot solve the problem and someone should have recognized that a long time ago. It’s very simple: What happens if the oil pipe breaks? It’s just plain logic. People need to recognize what needs to be done now to prevent this from happening again.

BP are not the only people that have these kind of set ups too, they not the only dealers on the block.

There have been numerous and bigger spills oil spills in Nigeria in the past few decades.

There’s a reason why people hear about things and there’s a reason why they don’t. I’m not informed about Nigeria but it’s very simple. We should be proactive in supporting alternate means of energy.

I don’t drive. I think cars are great. I don’t personally get to see the value in oil. I think people forget the main issue. They only think about how much it costs them to pay for oil. They don’t think about the value of oil. To me it has no value.

We are paying way too much in more ways than one. You got dolphins and whales that are paying for a product that is obsolete. It’s the definition of an archaic product. It’s a cheap commodity for the people that are able to harness it. The profit margin they’re receiving to generate this cheap form of energy is disgusting.

I’ve heard oil companies have made more money than anyone in the history of money.

That’s what’s up.

Thanks Manhattan and Happy Birthday!
