We already knew our president is young but now we know for sure he’s pretty healthy, and still smoking.

At the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. Obama’s doctor and the head of the White House medical unit, Jeff Kuhlman, examined him. Dr. Kuhlman pronounced him “fit for duty” adding the president will likely “remain so for the duration of his presidency” in his first check up since taking office.

It’s amazing what you can find out about a President. We can know more about Mr. Obama than many of us know about ourselves!

For example he exercises at least six mornings a week and plays basketball and golf. Unless you’re doing that too he probably still thinks you’re fat though.

While Mr. Obama usually eats healthy meals prepared by Sam Kass, the family’s chef, he also throws a little fast food in there. Could it be he’s just like us?

I do have evidence of Mr. Obama drinking soda.

We also know now that his cholesterol levels are a bit elevated, which is the case for many African Americans.

The president has “admitted lapses” in his efforts to quit smoking. That’s not at all what the president is known for (cause you can’t get a pic of him smoking anywhere!) and he and his wife try to promote good health in the country.

According to nytimes.com:

Other standard blood tests showed no evidence of diabetes, heart and metabolic disease. They included triglycerides, 46; high density lipoprotein, 62; and low density lipoprotein (so-called bad cholesterol), 138. These compared to 44, 68 and 96 in 2007.
The president’s pulse rate of 56 and blood pressure of 105/62 are normal.

His next check up will be in 2011 when Mr. Obama turns 50. When is your next check up?
